Let me start out by saying: if a girl says she doesn't want a boyfriend at the moment, trust me, she doesn't want one at that moment. That absolutely DOES NOT mean that she won't want one in the future! You two are obviously very close friends, and I'm sure that means a lot to her, but if she doesn't want a boyfriend, she doesn't want one! So, my advice is to wait it out and see what happens because if you start to do little things to show her you care and love her, she may start to consider the fact that you may be a good boyfriend! But, let her be right now. And, if it does work out, do NOT make things awkward after you breakup, because it WILL ruin your friendship.
